Aloe Vera Gel/Juice

Aloe Vera is a great alternative method to thicken hair as its extremely accessible. You can easily find it at your local super market, health store, or even online. The chemical makeup of Aloe Vera is extremely beneficial as it contains polysaccharides. A polysaccharide is a single large molecule made of multiple, small monosaccharides. Monosaccharides are essentially simple sugars (like glucose!). Polysaccharides can take on a wide variety of forms, and each have its own unique function. One of its largest functions, however, is providing support to cells and tissues to create strong bonds. When Aloe Vera is applied to you hair, polysaccharides provide cellular support to your strands, which thicken and strengthen them in the process.

Collagen

Another great method to strengthen your hair is through collagen. You can easily incorporate collagen into your daily routine with Collagen Protein (or another protein derived from bone broth).

Collagen Types 1 and 3 make up almost 90% of the collagen in your entire body. Within this collagen are amino acids that make your hair, skin, and nails. As we age and are exposed to sugary foods, environmental pollution, sunlight, and even stress, our levels of collagen begin to deplete. This eventually can cause hair loss and thinning in addition to weak nail beds, and decrease in skin elasticity.

While its possible to obtain a good portion of collagen by incorporating bone broth into your daily diet, another additional step is to take 1 to 2 scoops of collagen protein a day. You can add this protein into your favorite smoothie, or even incorporate them into a baked good!

B-Complex/Bioton

In addition to collagen, a vitamin that’s extremely valuable to our hair, skin, and nails in Biotin.

Biotin, also known at Vitamin B7, is a member of the Vitamin B family, and helps synthesize fatty acids, isoleucine, and valine. These are all necessary components for cell growth within your body. Lack of Biotin often causes hair loss and can even cause rashes on your skin. Taking a Biotin supplement or a B-Complex vitamin (which contains vitamin), can aid in strengthening your strands and lead to an overall thicker head of hair!

Taking 1 to 2 capsules daily (or as prescribed for the individual supplement), should do the trick.

Plus, in addition to helping with hair cell growth, B vitamins are proven to extremely benefical in restoring energy levels and focus!

Rosemary Essential Oil

Essential Oils are a time tested natural way to improve your inner and outer health. Rosemary Essential Oil is specifically beneficial for thickening hair because it contains Rosmarinic Acid.

Rosemary has historically been used to treat hair loss as it promotes cell growth and clears the scalp of oil and buildup that may be blocking hair follicles. Rosemarinic Acid, found in Rosemary and Rosemary Essential Oil, is an anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory compound. Applying this topically will reduce inflammatory chemicals in your body (such as leukotriene B4), that can potential harm your hair follicles. In addition, Rosearinic Acids anti-biotic properties cleanse your scalp. Rosemary Essential Oil has even been shown to aid with bald patches as well.

Rosemary Essential Oil also blocks a hormone called DHT (Dihydrotestosterone), which can cause baldness, hair loss, and hair thinning.

To use Rosemary Oil, take 5 drops of the essential oil and mix it with Aloe Vera Gel or 1 tsp. of warm olive oil. Massage this mixture into your scalp for 1 minute then let it rest in your hair for about 30 minutes to an hour, then rise it out.
