6 Ways To Get Rid Of Belly Fat Before Summer

Baring your belly for bikini season?

For some women, weight gain tends to be most noticeable in the midsection. According to Mayo Clinic, many women notice an increase in belly fat as they get older, which is likely caused by a decreasing level of estrogen. The shift in hormones affects where your body decides to distribute your fat.

Luckily, slight changes in your diet and activity can have a HUGE effect on the appearance of belly fat. With a well-informed approach and a little bit of persistence, you’ll head to the beach this summer with confidence.

By following these steps, you will blast that belly fat and see results that will last long into the summer.

6 Ways To Get Rid Of Belly Fat Fast Before Summer

1. Drink Green Tea

Try to include at least three glasses of green tea in your daily diet if you’re trying to burn off belly fat. According to Medical Daily, up to 75 percent of Americans may suffer from chronic dehydration. When your body becomes dehydrated, your metabolism can slow down by as much as 30 percent, which is bad news if you’re trying to get rid of belly fat. In addition to hydrating your body, green tea is full of powerful antioxidants that can help cell processes move more quickly.

2. Skip The Soda

Soda is almost entirely composed of sugars in the form of corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, and other artificial additives. All of these are very difficult for your body to process, particularly in your abdominal area. Thinking about trying diet soda to compensate? Think again.

Diet soda actually contains more artificial sweeteners than regular soda. If you can’t resist your craving for soda, try squeezing a few lemon or lime slices into a cup of carbonated water. You’ll satisfy your appetite for carbonation, all while sending a boost to your digestive system, which will definitely get rid of your belly fat fast.

3. Remember To Keep Eating The Right Amount Of Foods Consistently

Many times, women trying to lose the fat around their belly will reduce their caloric intake. While this may seem intuitive, eating less often makes most people gain fat around their midsection. Why? Because your body thinks it’s starving!

It will actually work harder to store fat because your diet has become unpredictable and it thinks it needs to go into survival mode. In order to lose that belly fat fast, you actually need to increase the frequency of your meals and decrease portion sizes.

By eating more frequently, your body will realize that you have more than enough to eat and start releasing the fat stores it decided to place in your stomach area. Instead of eating three large meals each day, try eating five smaller meals.

Another way you can make sure you eat the right foods is to carry around a bag of snacks everywhere you go. Click here to read about some of Kimberly’s favorite snacks!

4. Go for a Jog

There’s no better way to see all-over fat loss than to learning to move your body a few times each week. Start off with a jog around your block, if that’s all you feel comfortable doing.

Just make sure you do enough distance to feel proud of yourself after each jaunt. If you have hip, knee, or ankle issues, make sure you fully stretch your legs before and after this exercise in order to avoid injury.

5. Try Yoga

According to Elissa Epel, Ph.D., getting rid of belly fat is “not just a formula of calories in and calories out. What we eat and how much may determine our overall weight, but stress influences where that fat actually gets deposited on our body.”

A good yoga routine is one of the easiest ways to de-stress your life. The low-impact stretching and bending will certainly tone your body, but most importantly, you’ll develop a stress-free period of time where you can focus entirely on yourself. Most gyms offer yoga classes, but if you would prefer to try it alone, just look up a yoga routine on YouTube or purchase a tape. Stick with it, and you’ll see results!

6. Learn to Love Stairs

Ah, stairs. Whether you can skip the elevator on your way to work or do a few laps on the stairs in your house, find a way to incorporate stairs into your daily life. Walk up two at a time, do a set as fast as you can, try to skip up a few – be creative!

Stairs are an awesome way to tone your core from the inside out. The side stepping motion of walking up stairs also does wonders for your side abs! This final step will ensure the demise of your belly fat for good.

Now that you know how to do it, you’re ready to tackle your belly fat and get rid of it FAST! If you wholeheartedly dedicate yourself to achieving your weight loss goals, not only will you see inches shed from your abdominal area, you’ll also quickly see an entire body transformation that will leave you smiling every time you pass a mirror.

Don’t forget to lift some heavy weights too! I went to the gym this morning and did:
    1) Cardio warmup, 5 mins
    2) Lifted weights for my legs, chest, abs and shoulders, 20 mins
    3) Ran on the treadmill while watching dance music videos via YouTube, 20 mins

I only do this between 2 to 3 times a week in the morning especially because I work full time at a Montessori child care center and attend school at night.

Eating right is essential! If you can’t cook every other day, then learn about meal prepping and try to do it before your week starts.

    Good luck!
