This week we’re Woman Crushing on Kiersey Clemons, who recently returned to the big screen in Flatliners a science fiction drama about medical students who embark on a daring experiment to gain insight into the mystery of what lies beyond the confines of life.
Kiersey Clemons was in the critically acclaimed coming-of-age comedy Dope, produced by Pharrell Williams, Sean Combs, and Forest Whitaker. The Sundance festival darling also starred Shameik Moore, Tony Revolori, Zoë Kravitz, Chanel Iman, and Kimberly Elise.
In this interview with Allure, actress Kiersey Clemons opens up about her relationship with her hair. She says, “Growing up, I had really big hair. Giant hair. As I got older, the goal was to make it smaller — I wanted to look like everyone else.” Clemons eventually got a weave and would manipulate her hair to be straight. Clemons shares, “We hide behind our hair. I didn’t really think about that until I cut it off…So now I’m growing my hair back out. My hair was my enemy at one point, and through trial and error I realized I should just leave it alone.”
