9 Vegan Snacks for Super Bowl Sunday

Are you throwing a Super Bowl party this Sunday? When it comes to inviting lots of guests over for a viewing party, a mixed crowd is inevitable.

It can be a little overwhelming to even plan the menu for a get-together like the Super Bowl – especially in Los Angeles, where many have food allergies, intolerance, or simply particular preferences. For all you vegans and vegetarians out there, don’t worry – we got’chu!

If you’ve ever thrown a fairly-sizeable casual get-together at home, I bet you learned your lesson well (as I did!) that  finger foods are the way to go. Here are nine of our favorite (mostly utensil-free) vegan Super Bowl snacks that even non-vegans can enjoy!

1. Roasted Potato Cups with Loaded Guacamole

Set out a plate of these Roasted Potato Cups with Loaded Guacamole for hearty hors d’oeuvres that combine one of the most versatile foods ever – potatoes – with the ever-trending, ever-popular guacamole!

Another finger-food winner at parties: Cajun tofu and sweet potato fries.

2. 7-Layer Taco Dip

My personal favorite snack for any sporting event: chips and dip. Try this 7-Layer Taco Dip that has it all: beans, corn, chipotle tofu, bell peppers, salsa, guacamole, and jalapenos! Throw some quinoa chips into the mix for even more protein.

Slide over, burgers, and make room for these delectable Portabello Sliders with Caramelized Onions. Portobello mushrooms are so rich and full-flavored and pair perfectly with the sweetness of onions in this bite-sized sandwich.

7. Green Chili Mac and Cheese

With all the finger foods spread across the coffee table, this one will make the dishes worth doing. Enjoy this velvety Green Chili Mac and Cheese with the perfect kick of heat! You wouldn’t know it by looking at it, but this creamy cheese is made of cashew! This is nothing less than a full-flavored savory dish, seasoned well with cumin, onions, and chili powder.

8. Rice Crispy Treats

Finally, don’t forget to leave something sweet out there for your Super Bowl fans to hover around. These healthy Rice Crispy Treats are crispy and buttery with just a touch of sea salt to balance out the sweetness.

9. Peanut Butter Pretzel Truffles

On second thought, after all those other savory Super Bowl snacks, it would only be fair to drop another sweet on the table. Balance is key, after all.  To incorporate the classic sporty snack – pretzels – into a dessert that’s a little more decadent, make these delicious and easy Peanut Butter Pretzel Truffles.
