1. Vitamin B-complex

Vitamin B helps to nurture healthy hair. You can further break Vitamin B into two categories: Biotin and Vitamin B5. Biotin is responsible for repairing your damaged hair. B5 helps reinforce the adrenal glands for healthy hair growth.

According to, “adrenal glands produce cortisol in response to stress.” However, if our bodies are subject to long periods of stress, our adrenal glands will focus on producing extra cortisol while neglecting to produce other hormones that lead to healthy hair growth. So Vitamin B5 is an important component to restoring that balance.

2. Silica

Silica is a mineral that helps make your hair smooth and silky. This promotes hair growth in it keeps hair moisturized. Dry hair is one of the main reasons why hair doesn’t grow as healthy as it should. The hair becomes brittle, which easily falls out. Therefore, adding silica to your routine can help you avoid this.

This mineral is present in many foods and drinks. You can get silica from whole grains, carrots, and surprisingly, even coffee!

Omega-3s nourish your hair follicles and improve a flaky and dry scalp. Almonds and pumpkin seeds are full of omega-3 fatty acids.

Iron is essential to hair growth. When your body is low in iron, it is unable to produce hemogoblin in your blood. According to Viviscal, hemogoblin “is the ingredient that carries oxygen for the growth and repair of all body cells, including the cells that make up hair follicles.” So when you’re suffering from an iron deficiency,  you may notice that your hair falls out more.

Green leafy vegetables such as spinach are a good source of iron. Lentils are also full of iron. Make your own lentil soup with this recipe.

Achieving that long, healthy hair is easy. All you need is a little bit of research and patience.
