Kimberly’s Favorite 4 Winter Moisturizers For Natural Beauty

How do you hydrate and protect your skin in the winter?

To keep my skin healthy and supple, I hydrate during the winter with products that are safe for my body and gentle for the delicate skin on my face. I’ve included a few of my favorites here. I’d love to learn about your vegan-friendly winter favorites as well! Please leave your suggestions in the comments and I’ll check them out!

For sensitive skin, use CV Skinlab’s Calming Moisture for Face, Neck and Scalp

CVP_CalmingMoistureAll CV Skinlab’s moisturizing products are a winter must-have for those with sensitive skin, but I especially love their Calming Moisture for Face, Neck, and Scalp. This light-weight, smoothing moisturizing cream is ideal for children who play winter sports; people suffering from achy, tight skin due to the weather or harsh products; loved-ones who are prone to rashes and skin-disorders; and individuals who are concerned about the toxins in their run-of-the-mill skincare products.

For a full-body self-care, check out their Body Repair Lotion. This ultra-soothing, fast-absorbing, deeply hydrating body lotion replenishes and soothes dry, inflamed skin while immediately restoring radiance.

CV Skinlabs’ mission is to go above-and-beyond other  products in the skincare marketplace, which generally contain harmful ingredients for sensitive skin types. My daughters both have sensitive skin, and use this product as a moisturizer for their face. They say that it is lightweight, and excellent for daily wear under makeup.

For dry skin skin, use Mychelle’s Deep Repair Cream

mychelle-winter-moisturizerI apply Mychelle’s Deep Repair Cream to my neck, face, and décolletage two to three times per week to keep my skin feeling smooth and soft. They key ingredient is Kombuchka Black Tea Ferment, which is rich in vitamin B. Polypeptides are also responsible for the skin’s growth and repair.

My daughter has very dry skin (I suspect because she loves coffee). She uses Mychelle’s Deep Repair Cream it for its repairing qualities. They also have an unscented version of this product, in case you don’t like fragrances. If you do not have dry skin, then I recommend trying Mychelle’s Daily Defense Cream SPF 17.The ingredients are nourishing and protect and shield your skin from the sun.

Mychelle uses anti-aging peptides, plant stem cells, and effective ingredients to deliver soft, supple skin. Their products are cruelty-free, meaning their materials are bioactive, their ingredients are ethically sourced, and their products are formulated with high-performance ingredients for superior results and a lifetime of natural, healthy skin.

For mature or overworked skin, use InstaNatural’s Youth Express Vitamin C Moisturizer

Vitamin C MoisturizerInstaNatural is an affordable alternative to the chemical-rich, overpriced skincare products that you find in department stores. What strikes me most about Youth Express Vitamin C Moisturizer is that it actually works – after about 4 weeks, your skin may appear brighter and more rested.

Ingredients such as Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid, Plant Stem Cells, Peptide Complex and MSM help to fade wrinkles, age spots, hyperpigmentation and dryness. This company uses premium organic and natural ingredients in their formulations without the use of harmful parabens or ingredients.

Their website notes that all of their products are produced in small batches and packaged in FDA-certified facilities in the USA to ensure freshness and safety for customers.

For normal, non-oily skin, use Organic Rosehip oil

For those of you who don’t need to be too fancy, apply just under a half of a teaspoon of Rosehip oil to your face before bed or under your makeup.  Rosehip oil is harvested from the seeds of rose bushes, is full of vitamins, antioxidants and essential fatty acids that are known to correct dark spots and hydrate dry, itchy skin. Also, it absorbs extremely well into the skin.

Remember to keep your Rosehip oil in the refrigerator, as this tender oil will go rancid! I like to mix Rosehip oil with coconut oil after a nice warm shower before bed and apply it all over my body. There’s a D-I-Y recipe for you!
